Geri Cohen Mizrahi

Overview
For me, making art is about transforming the ordinary into something extraordinary. By repurposing materials that once held no meaning, I breathe new life into them, creating stories that connect the past with the present, the seen with the unseen.

Geri Cohen Mizrahi is a New-York-based painter, muralist, and installation artist whose practice moves fluidly between two and three-dimensional space. A graduate of Parsons School of Design (BFA, 2021), she weaves, layers, rolls, and sculpts canvas combining the material with resin, spray paint, and adhesives to create works that literally lift off the wall, catching and refracting light.

Cohen Mizrahi’s tactile, up-cycled surfaces explore the tension between permanence and ephemerality, often reflecting her experiences as a new mother and her commitment to community-centered public art. Recent exhibitions include “Act 05” at Galería Azur, Miami (2024), “Figuration” at Mana Contemporary (2023), and a trio of group exhibitions at Kelly-McKenna Gallery, Spring Lake (2023–24). She remains dedicated to using large-scale murals and installations to fuse ancestral narratives with contemporary environmental concerns.
