Shari Epstein is a mixed-media artist working across collage painting, fabric, and photography. Her collage paintings bring together clothing patterns, music sheets, napkins, handmade papers, printed images, acrylic paint, and water-soluble crayon, combining the structure of collage with loose, abstract mark-making. Her work often explores the meeting point between past and present, stillness and movement, and the natural world in a state of change. Epstein's climate-related bodies of work include Sandy and Rising, which respond to Hurricane Sandy, coastal flooding, shifting shorelines, and environmental uncertainty. Her selected exhibitions and presentations include 14C, NJ Art Fair, Atlantic Highlands Arts Council, Studio Montclair, The Gallery at Hillside Square, Gallery 211, Grant Avenue Gallery, Johnson & Johnson's Artists Vision Series, Site:Brooklyn Gallery, Monmouth Museum, Spectrum Miami, Bergen County Community College, SICA, and Apex Gallery. She teaches painting through the Monmouth County Park System.
