Kelly-McKenna Gallery is pleased to announce our inaugural solo exhibition “Mile Saula: Kaleidoscope” opening May 12, 2023. The exhibition showcases nine new paintings by the artist representing his most recent visual explorations of unconscious mind. 

Born in Belgrade, Serbia in 1970, Mile Saula’s unique vision and sensitivity to lyricism set him apart from other abstract artists working today. While his mental landscapes are influenced by psychoanalysis, avant-garde art, and literary movements, his artistic practice is deeply connected to the latest computational technologies, reflecting the new post-perceptual regime. Through his work, Saula tackles the question of representation on a different plane, paving the way for a new understanding of our technologically mediated landscapes.

With the radical democratization of artificially generated art and the shift from optic to entoptic media, we gain a new perspective on Saula's work. His approach to image creation draws heavily on the process through which neural networks generate new holograms that transcend the phenomenological experience of reality. Saula's work is characterized not by abstractions, but by ingressions - rigorous investigations of our psychological interiority that provide fresh insights into our shared and individual experiences.
