Jaqueline Cedar

Overview
My paintings are about the psychological exchanges that happen between people and the ways in which we perform our emotions.
Jaqueline Cedar is an American artist based in Brooklyn, NY, known for her figurative paintings which explore psychological and physical interactions in abstract environments, highlighting themes of self-awareness, control, and immobility. Cedar's paintings depict figures absorbed in their thoughts yet compelled to engage with their surroundings, creating dynamic scenarios through the interplay of line and color. Her exhibitions include solo shows at Steven Zevitas Gallery and 106 Green Gallery, and she has been featured in publications like Huffington Post and New American Paintings.
